Quick, slow, quick, quick, slow.

November 19, 2006

Here’s how my day went today. I woke up at about 9:30am. We were plannlng to go to church this morning, but since it started at 10am well, we didn’t quite make it. Instead, I decided to start breakfast for Susan, her mom, and I. I’m not exactly the best cook in the world, so I did get a little help from Susan on the homemade waffles. (No Eggos this time.)

After we finished eating, Susan and I went though all the junk mail and bills that have been piling on our window ledge for weeks. When that was over, I went out to the garage and began cutting the wood for my doggie door blocking project. It was supposed to go pretty easy, but I soon discovered the screws we had were not long enough to go through everything. A few design modifications later, the doggie door is blocked and working wonderfully.

I was going to build some shelves in the garage today too, but decided to put it off for another week. Instead, I sat and played some Snood for awhile. Susan and her mom went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries and some stuff for Thanksgiving dinner. I stayed at home cause Susan’s cousin was over working on his resume on our computer. I got tired of just sitting around doing nothing. So, I went outside and began raking up all the leaves on our lawn. By the time I was done, I had two 30gal bags full of leaves. I didn’t stop there though. I also changed the a/c filter and started some laundry.

Susan called me and asked if I could take out some hamburger for spagetti. I did, but I also went ahead and made dinner for everyone as well. When dinner was over, I sat down in the living room. My energy for the day had finally ran out.

I’ve got to get up early tomorrow and go to work. I actually have a load going to Memphis, TN that has to be there by 3pm. So, I guess it’s time to quit this typing thing and go to bed. Goodnight all.

Getting the Job Done.

November 19, 2006

Ahh, home at last. I finally got my load out of Laredo at 4:15pm yesterday. My fleet manager gets out of work at 4pm. I asked and asked for a load all day to get me home. Suddenly when he’s gone, the 2nd shift dispatch can get me a load right away. I’m beginning to think he does it on purpose sometimes. Oh well, what can you do. Anyway, on the way home I stopped at Carl’s Jr. Their hamburgers are the best. I especially like the pastrami hamburger. I was very disappointed to discover that they did away with it :-(   I got home at 2am in the morning.

Well, with the week I had, when I woke up this morning I wanted to anything besides sit around. So, today I hung 2 pictures in the living room, 4 ceramic plaques in the kitchen, a broom holder in the laundry room, and a sunflower plaque over the stove. When that was done, I fixed the spare bathroom’s leaking sink faucet, and the running toilet. Then, I changed the 2 burnt out lightbulbs in our bedroom ceiling fan.

The afternoon came and we met Susan’s sister and kids at Cici’s for lunch. I really didn’t want to go there to eat, but I was out voted by everyone else. Afterward, we went to Lowe’s and got some cement and some wood to fix our broken fence. We also went over to my mother-in-law’s storage to get a saw, some 2×4s, and some nails. When we got home, we went to work on fixing the fence. We had to dig 2 holes for the posts. I was so glad Brandon came over and helped. The fence is fixed. Yea!

We had homemade chicken strips for dinner and watched CMT Giants, Reba. It was a good show. Mandy brought her dog, Bacon, over to visit with Chansi. What a size difference. Great Dane vs. Hound Dog. Patches was NOT a happy camper. That’s WAY to many dogs in the house for her. Suddenly, we couldn’t find Patches anywhere. We even tried using the hound dog in Bacon to find her. Didn’t work, but she did actually seem like she was looking. It was Jeromy who finally found her in the garage. She must of got in there when I was putting away the tools we were using to fix the fence.

Anyway, everyone has left now. Susan and her mom have both went to bed. And it’s now time for me to say goodnight as well. Goodnight, all.
