The Last 3 Days
November 25, 2006I know I missed updating the last few days, but I figured I’d have more talk about if I skipped a few days. So here’s what I’ve got.
Thursday:
I woke up and went out to my car to see in the daylight what damage I had done to it. I went ahead and removed the entire right fender and found that there had been frame damage to the car after all. I messed with it a little more until Susan pulled me away from it cause there was really nothing more I could do to it since it was Thanksgiving and everywhere to go get parts for it was closed. Susan, her mom, and I had Thanksgiving dinner at our house at about 2pm. We had ham, stuffing, deviled eggs, green bean cassarole, mashed potatoes, beets, cranberry sauce, and rolls for dinner. No turkey though. No one really wanted it. The rest of the day was spent being bums. We did absolutely nothing. It felt Gooooooooooood.
Friday:
Jeromy and I went to a few junkyards to look for parts for my car. Pick-A-Part was having a half price sale and I figured it would be cheap to repair my car cause of that. Well, the only problem is that my car is still too new to find parts for it in a junkyard. However, we did find out that if you go to the Fort Worth Pick-A-Part and pay for their $1.00 admission fee, you can go to the Pick-A-Part in Grand Prairie and not have to pay their $2.00 admission fee. We went to Sonic afterward and I tried their chili cheese Frito Burrito. It was pretty good. I’ll be getting that again. When we got home, I called our insurance and filed a claim on my car. I tried to call and set up an appointment with the body shop that’s going to do the work on on my car, but they’re closed until Monday due to the holiday. Later that night we went to see the Fort Worth Parade of Lights. I didn’t really want to go but, I did because Susan “Really, Really, Really” wanted to go. During the parade we took turns holding Kaitlyn, my niece, on our shoulders so she could get a good view of everything. When we left the parade and were in the truck headed to On The Border for dinner Kaitlyn told everyone that she was farting during the whole parade. And here I thought the whole time I was smelling the horse poop on the ground.
Today:
I stayed in bed as long as I could this morning until I was made to get up and go to lunch. We went to Braum’s and I ate lunch and a mix of pumkin and peppermint ice cream. Then we went to Garden Ridge and left quickly because they were way to crowded. We went to Target and Susan & I got a bunch of X-mas lights for the yard. I wasn’t going to spend any money today, but oh well. We also went to Michael’s, but we left empty handed. Tonight we had salsbury steak and mashed potatoes for dinner. There was also some green onions that everyone but Kaitlyn and I were eating. To get Kaitlyn to try the green onions I agreed to try them too. Even though I had tried them before and knew I wouldn’t like it, I had a bite so that Kaitlyn would. She liked it. I had to get a mint to get the awful taste out of my mouth. I mostly wanted to show Susan that I will try to get my kids to eat things I don’t like. But I have to draw the line at spinach. That stuff makes me gag.
And that’s the last 3 days of my life. Tomorrow we start putting up lights on the house and maybe put up the X-mas tree. Anyway, that’s all for now. Tah-tah!
