Up On A Roof.

November 26, 2006

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house. Last night we got out all our x-mas stuff and put together our tree. We only got the lights on it so far though. We had to buy 1 more strand of blue and 1 more strand of purple lights to finish the top of the tree. After all was done, we went to bed.

I tried really hard to stay in bed as long as I could this morning. I knew when I got up this was going to be a busy day. And it was. We started by loading the shower stall that was in the garage into Janie’s truck to take it to her storage. We also moved some things around and threw out a bunch of empty boxes. Then we headed off. We did our thing at the storage and then went to Denny’s to eat. After we finished eating we went to target to get the extra lights we needed for the tree. I also bought a bunch of green and red lights to put in the tree next year. They were on sale for $2.00 a box. I couldn’t resist. Then we had to go back to Janie’s storage, because we forgot to get the ladder I needed to put up x-mas lights on the house. After we got it, we headed back home.

And now, let the decorating begin! We put up as much outside decorations as we could today until it got too dark to see anymore. Our house is decorated with a candy cane theme. We still have a bush to put lights on, pepperment lights to put up over our garage door, and icicle lights to hang from our roof. After that, I think outside is done. We already all think we have the cutest house on the block. My dad always decorated like this for Christmas. I never thought I would end up doing it too. The only thing I had a problem with was getting on the roof. I’m not afraid of heights or being up on a roof, but I hate climbing straight ladders. I am always scared it’s going to come away from the roof and fall over. But I must admit it was worth it. I never expected our house to be this decorated our 1st Christmas here.

Eric called me today and was in the neighborhood. He, Wendy, and Liz came over to see our house and meet Chansi. I felt kinda bad though because I really didn’t get to do much visiting with them since I was on our roof hanging lights. They were only here for about 20 minutes and left. Hopefully, they’ll come back again when we’re not so busy and can maybe we do something together. Anyway, now it’s pizza time! We ordered 3 pizzas and one of them is a pepperoni and jalapeno. The jalapenos ended up being too hot for Susan to handle. I almost can’t believe it. She eats everything hot and spicy.

I think everything is finally winding down for the night. We’re all at our computers now and chilaxing. Susan and I have a full schedule ahead of us tomorrow so we need to go to bed at a decent hour tonight. I thinks that’s alls I’s gots folks. Ho! Ho! Ho! Everybody!
